MaineHealth Behavioral Health (MHBH), a member of MaineHealth, seeks a full-time psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Integrated Team with MaineHealth Pediatrics - Kennebunk. MaineHealth Behavioral Health (MHBH) seeks an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Integrated Team with MaineHealth Pediatrics in Kennebunk, Maine . The PMHNP will join the Pediatrics team in York County to provide psychiatric consultation and care to help shape services for a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic. Educating the care team on psychiatric approaches to behavioral health conditions is an exciting part of the role. The ideal candidate will have a passion for treating children of all ages and young adults with behavioral health disorders. Previous PMHNP experience working with pediatrics required.

Schedule:Part Time (benefits eligible) 20 hours per week - Potential remote/hybrid options.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Complete diagnostic evaluation and health screening.
  • Prescribe medical treatment within scope of practice.
  • Provide on-going medication assessment, education, and management.
  • Provide therapeutic treatment in face-to-face and tele-psychiatric evaluations.
  • Develop and record a plan for effective and timely treatment for patients in a community-based setting.
  • Complete medical records timely per policy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree with an advanced knowledge of nursing theory and practice, and additional medical training.
  • Current and valid license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by the Maine State Board of Nursing.
  • Qualified to do psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
  • Specific credentialing criteria are needed if working in the hospital as defined by Medical Staff By-Laws.
  • Experience: 2+ years of patient care as a (PMHNP) Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in a community mental health center or hospital is required.
  • Advanced skill and knowledge in conducting psychiatric evaluations and treating patients.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree as Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
  • Two years’ experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) minimum (Required)
  • Valid license as a Nurse Practitioner by the Maine State Board of Nursing and qualified to do psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
  • Must meet specific credentialing criteria needed if working in the hospital as defined by Medical Staff By-Laws.
  • Advanced skill and knowledge in conducting psychiatric evaluations and treating psychiatric conditions.
